Essays and short articles should be about artistry, analysis, knowledge, and understanding—they should not be movie reviews or statements of subjective judgments. Essays and short articles might include observations of techniques, analysis of scenes or shots, or artistic relationships among parts of a film or among different films. Submissions should not be mere summaries or evaluative statements.

All submissions should be double-spaced, with one-inch margins on all sides, in Microsoft Word. All films, books, or other sources mentioned in your essay should be documented in a list of Works Cited (identifying author or director, title of the work cited, publisher or production company, and date of publication or first release).
